A Dream Job
A dream job that I have always wanted to be is a nurse. I would love to help make people’s days feel better. If I have the opportunity to help someone out, I would definitely be involved. Plus, you have to be organized to be a nurse and I am very organized. I wanted to be a nurse since elementary school because many people in my family are nurses. This job is sometimes unrealistic because you have to go to school for many years to come out with a good degree.
When researching this job out, I figured out that nurse do many things to help patients. Such as measuring and recording food for patients. I was also surprised that nurses approximately only get 12 dollars an hour. I learned that you have to have good critical thinking and listening skills to become a nurse because if you don’t have good critical thinking, then you may not be able to make a diagnosis to a patient’s problems or worries. To add, listening skills are included because you have to hear all their symptoms or complaints to help them out. Plus, you have to be good with technology to record the patient’s thoughts or problems.
After taking the quiz, I found out that I am a people person. The description for a people person is that they are gifted with dealing with other people. I was not surprised with this career personality because I like to help others. Also, it said some career choices that might be best are a nurse, psychologist or teacher.
I would like to nominate: http//8gabrielle8.edublogs.org/
I have nominated Gabrielle for many reasons. Gabrielle’s blog is fun and uplifting; I believe she should be nominated for sure. I love all of her thought and effort that she puts into her blog. Plus, I love the background of her blog because it is bright and colorful. She sounds like she is a focused and dedicated student especially with her blog. Gabrielle has short and sweet blog posts, so I nominate Gabrielle’s blog.
Some places I want to visit overseas are Ireland, England, Italy and Greece. I would love to visit Ireland because I have many relatives living there and I would like to see them again sometime. I would also love to see Italy because I like Italian food and I would want to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I would also like to Greece because I would like to go the Ionian Islands in Greece, since the water is so beautiful there.
Most of all, I would love to see England because there are many historical sites to see like the London Eye and Big Ben. In England, I would also want to take a tour of Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. My friend also has been to England and she enjoyed the trip very much.
For more information about England go to:
I go back three generations to my great grandparents coming to the United States from Ireland. Then, my grandparents were born here in the United States and so was my parents plus me. Actually, I still have relatives living in Ireland today and we are still close. Someday, I’m going to visit Ireland and probably stay with my cousins while I’m there.
In February, our school raises money for the American Heart Association. We all raise money and then we are able to play in a basketball tournament. We pick our own teams of four and plan creative costumes. Also, we win prizes if you earn a certain amount of money. Our whole school usually raises about 15,000 dollars for that one event. Another program we do is Thanksgiving Food Donation. Every year around Thanksgiving time, we drop off cans of foods and some other things. The bags of food usually fill up the whole lobby every year. It always feels good to give food to people who can’t afford any.
I usually get up at 6:15 on school mornings and carpool with my friend, Abby, to school. It usually takes us about 5 minutes to get to school. I normally eat Frosted Flakes cereal for breakfast in the morning. At lunchtime, I usually eat a peanut butter sandwich. Then at dinner, most nights we have teriyaki chicken and rice pilaf. We go to school at A.W. Coolidge Middle School. The subjects I take are English, Spanish, science, social studies, math, art, gym, technology, and team. Team is a class where we learn about many things like child labor, geography, writing children stories, and learning about your heritage. In our school for technology, we have many things such as iPads. I start off the school day with homeroom for 30 minutes and each class is 50 minutes long. Also, we have lunch which is 30 minutes, but we have no breaks during the school day. At the end of the day, we have the announcements come on and shortly after the bell rings and we go home.
I live in Boston, Massachusetts and there are many things to see. Some things to see are Fenway Park, Duck Tours, New England Aquarium, Museum of Science and Castle Island. At Fenway Park, you can watch the Red Sox play and it is the largest baseball stadium in the United States. My favorite place in Boston is Fenway Park because it’s always fun to see a ball game. The Duck Tours is a boat ride through out Boston and the Boston harbor. At the New England Aquarium, you can see a wide variety of sea animals. At the Museum of Science, you can see many cool things and can watch an IMAX movie. At Castle Island, you can ride bike, rollerblade, and scooter. Also, there’s a playground for little kids.
